Official Davis County criminal records must be requested from the office that maintains them. The Clerk of District Court handles filed criminal cases and public court documents. The Davis County Sheriff's Office handles sheriff reports, local booking information, fingerprinting, and warrant confirmation. Bloomfield Police keeps its own incident reports, while the Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation supplies statewide name-based criminal-history checks.

  • Expungement: file the current Iowa Judicial Branch application in the Davis County District Court case as the form and clerk direct.
  • Registry questions: Iowa Sex Offender Registry at 515-725-6050, or the Davis County Sheriff for local registration and suspected noncompliance.

General courthouse business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The clerk remains open until 4:30 p.m. and asks visitors to call during the final half hour. Sheriff reports are picked up in person or faxed after payment; no email-delivery process is advertised.
